BMG Difference

The BMG Difference: Uncompromised Bullion

The BMG philosophy is clear: Outright ownership of precious metals is the most reliable way of preserving wealth. BMG products do not compromise the fundamental attributes of bullion in any way.

BMG Funds

BMG Funds offer the following key benefits to pension fund managers:

  1. Liquidity – BMG Funds are open-end mutual fund trusts that can be purchased and redeemed daily at Net Asset Value (NAV). As a result, they have the same liquidity as bullion itself. The daily turnover at the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA) is approximately $20 billion, and the volume is estimated at five to seven times that amount.
  2. No Counterparty Risk – Unitholders in BMG Funds own the bullion outright, with no dependency on third parties and no possibility of third-party claims. Assets of BMG Funds are not someone else’s liability. Bullion is stored on an allocated, insured basis with The Bank of Nova Scotia.
  3. Zero Manager Dependence – BMG Funds have a fixed investment policy that cannot be varied without unitholder approval. BMG Funds do not hedge, market time, leverage or rebalance holdings. As a result, performance tracks the price of the bullion and not the trading skills of a portfolio manager.
  4. Due Diligence – BMG Funds are publicly registered mutual fund trusts complying with Canada’s National Instrument 81-102, and they meet AIMA guidelines.
  5. Transparency – BMG Funds’ holdings are verified annually by KPMG LLP audit. Detailed bar lists are updated monthly: BMG BullionFund and BMG Gold BullionFund.

BMG BullionBars

BMG Bullion Bars differ from BMG Funds in that investors own individual bars rather than units of a fund that holds individual bars. Individual bars of investment-grade gold, silver and platinum bullion can be purchased and stored on an allocated and insured basis with The Bank of Nova Scotia as custodian, or delivery can be arranged if preferred. With each bullion bar purchase, title of the bar is passed to the purchaser and evidenced with a unique, registered BullionDeed showing the owner’s name, bar weight, assayer, purity and the bar serial number.
